SlimeCake v0.221 Alpha 1 Month of Unity!
Hello! It's been a while since last update.
First here are the changelogs for the new update
Changelog 0.2x
- New zone, 30 additional levels
- Added best time save for all levels
- Added Controls to settings (finally)
- Added more to title screen
Bug fixes and etc
-Slightly changed bottom left/right corner of player hitbox to fix a bug where player was 'stuck' while standing on corner of block sometimes. Player will properly slip off the block instead.
-Fixed some old settings in titlescreen
-Added trail effect to f3
-Minor changes to some earlier levels
and alot of other minor changes/fixes
There were alot of things I wanted to get done for next big update for 0.2, mostly tons of bug fixes and functionalities, and making a new theme for next 30 levels.
Since I wanted the new levels to be unique in a way that some food from previous 30 levels won't be used for these new levels, I decided that these food will be used or not for the new levels.
SHARED - Ginseng, Carrot, Apple, Mushroom, Ghost Pepper
PLAINS - Gold Carrot, Gold Apple, BeanBowl, Potato, BeanCan, Eggplant
DESERT - Prickly Pear, Jalapeno, Cheese, Dragonfruit
with desert being the new theme I'm going for
I decided to keep Ginseng, Mushroom, and Ghost Pepper because they made up most of the brain for the puzzle setups. I wanted to include eggplant too but decided not to to keep the previous 15 levels with eggplant to have it's own unique part.
Now that the theme and food was decided, I had to think of what new mechanics these food could use for the new levels to feel different yet be just as challenging. Here's what the food does :
Prickly Pear - 2 block jump on use
Jalapeno - Can be carried around, but on use kills the player
Cheese - Can be carried around, and does nothing on use
Dragonfruit - Used on touch (with at least 1 food held), Swaps the order of food held (ex. 1 2 3 to 3 2 1)
and to top off the new food I added a new block named Gate to levels 46-60 to add to the new theme.
Gate - Has a food image in the middle of block. If player holds the matching food in 1st slot and comes in contact, gate and the food will be destroyed.
All these new blocks made A LOT of new puzzles to be made. The first new 15 levels show off the puzzles that can be made with the new food with last 15 Showing the extend of Gate block.
Some of the later levels with Gate took up to an hour to come up with (mostly to make sure there were no easier 'cheesed' paths possible)
With this done, new goal has been set before release. A total of 150 levels. I'll keep posting major updates until then. See you at v0.3
